About My Art and some Background
I currently own an art and design studio in San Antonio, TX.
From college,to travels, to my love of flight and all of the
above, I have a large collection of 2-dimensional work, that
can be printed as close to the originals as possible, with
today's technology. They are called giclee' art prints and
that is what I am offering from this site. I will sell originals if
the price is right and will consider commission's. Please
e-mail me for more information.

I have pursued art in many and different forms, while
walking different paths on this planet. My first love
was clay. I started my senior year in high school and
let it lead for 20 years or so. It kept me sane while I
pursued a career as a master mechanic on
automobiles. I started with functional stoneware as
everyone does and then discovered RAKU which I
pursued with gusto. I dropped cars and was a
professional exhibiting RAKU potter, when I lived in
Austin, TX., from the mid 80's into the low 90's. I
had to return to mechanics for financial reasons for 3
years. After a death in the family, I had a wake up
call.
I went back to college as a long delayed,
non-traditional student @ the ripe old age of
46 in 1997. I graduated in 2001 with a BFA
painting concentration, undergraduate
honors,an art history minor and magna cum
laude. I spent a semester in Florence, Italy
during the Fall of 1998.
Before opening my art and design studio in San Antonio,
I spent 3 winters in Jackson, WY. There, I learned how to
professionally mount, matt and frame artistic images. I
also learned graphic design, through sign making
programs on the computer. I also wrote a book titled
The
Pilot of the Lost Souls,
which is currently in the quest of a
publisher...what an endless hoop they make you jump
through. I will update progress in this area as it becomes
available. For all of the above, I would like to thank my
mother, Carolyn Coleman Riley. She knows why.
I have recently been volunteering @ the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome, working with the Fokker
DR-1 work-team to get a restored, full scale, tri-plane back into the air. Roger Freeman heads
the place and keeps everything on track. It is a great group of guys who come together for one
reason, their love of flight. I will link this information to their e-mail address and will keep the info
updated.... Fokker work day Nov. 11th and Nov. 18th is the Fall fly-in...

One of my favorite Raku Cathedral vases, thrown and then modified from the late 1980's. The two flanking pictures
are from Raku firing demonstrations I used to perform at different art shows as a professional exhibiting potter.

The two shots above were taken @ the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome during their Fall fly-in. We
have just landed after I got some stick and rudder time in the 1929 Meyer OTW bi-plane powered
by a Kinner 5-cylinder radial engine. The flight also included a loop...much better than being in a
roller-coaster or on a motorcycle.
On Dec 13th, 2006 I went to work at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome and have been working on a
Spad-13. It is a full scale recreation of the original aircraft built to exacting standards that
probably exceed any constructed during the great war. The structure looks like art, as it takes
shape and will become a functional aircraft when completed.
I quit on April 16th, 2007.
The left picture was taken just before a concert with the
Austin Symphonic Band in 1992, which I had the pleasure of
playing with for 9 years or so, if my memory serves me right.
The Wurst Band @ Schultz's on Thursday nights was a
completely different story and a whole lot of fun...
